Toru Nakatani`s one person exhibition,"It`s a small world", was held at Gallery R.P in Osaka in the severe lingering summer heat in August. He is a California based artist.

In his installation, the world where color (symbolize normal life from the point of the artist`s view) has been lost is expressed. All over the world many innocent children have been victimized by war and terrorism under the name of justice. These papier-mache animals are appealing to the viewers for this tragedy on behalf of the children.(from artist`s text)

The artist depicts the world in monotones in this installation, which consists of gray concrete floor, white wall and gray papier-mache objects from recycled newspapers. The viewer`s imagination travels freely from an amusement park to a grave yard.
